Gender Responsive Pedagogy

Gender Responsive Pedagogy is a process of teaching and learning that pays attention to specific learning needs of boys and girls. Gender Responsive Pedagogy calls for teachers to embrace an all encompassing gender approach : all teaching and learning materials should be scrutinized in order to eliminate gender stereotypes and emphasize teacher-student relationship.

FAWE Rwanda has therefore conducted trainings in Gender Responsive Pedagogy for teaching and non-teaching staff at FAWE Girls’ Schools in Gisozi and Gahini to make them models of gender responsive schools, and plans to conduct more trainings for 17 schools partnering for the MasterCard Foundation Scholars’ program.
