On International Women’s Day, we celebrate the contributions women make to shape our world. But we also recognize the challenges that still lie ahead. That’s why FAWE Rwanda works with women and girls to share best practices, and support each other in achieving common goals.

In this regard, on March 8th, FAWE Rwanda through the #MakeWay program, joined UMURI Foundation, Action Aid Rwanda among other development partners to celebrate International Women’s Day 2022 under the theme #BreakTheBias in Rwinkwavu Sector, Kayonza District.

Through the partnership with Umuri Foundation under the #MakeWay program, a #BreaktheBias 6 aside women’s tournament was organized. Girls have showcased their talent in closing the tournaments that aimed to empower them to regain hope & promote education using sport as a tool for change.

In her speech, Our National Coordinator Antonia Mutoro urged the residents to use this International Women’s Day as an opportunity to support women’s empowerment and girls’ education. “Education not only empowers women to shape their future, but it is also the key to unlocking their potential and lifting their families and communities.”
