On Friday, Feb. 24th, 2023, FAWE Rwanda hosted the 2022 Annual Review Meeting to reflect on our achievements and plan for the future. We were thrilled to welcome government officials, NGOs, and academia as our stakeholders in promoting quality education for girls and women.

During the meeting, Ms. Antonia Mutoro, FAWE Rwanda National Coordinator, welcomed all stakeholders and highlighted our scholarship program’s success in empowering girls’ education, implemented in collaboration with Mastercard Foundation and Beautiful World Canada.
Our Acting Program Coordinator, Ms. Josephine Kobusingye, presented our accomplishments, success stories, and challenges faced in 2022, outlining our proposed way forward for overcoming these challenges and continuing to make a positive impact.

We were honored to have our scholarship program’s beneficiaries, Uwimpuhwe Valentine and Yvonne SEZIBERA, share their testimonials on how our support enabled them to pursue their dreams and create a better future for themselves and their community.

Mr. Bernard Munyaneza from the Ministry of Education, Rwanda applauded our work towards advancing girls’ education in Rwanda, and we were privileged to have Martha Muhwezi, Executive Director of FAWE Africa, discuss the importance of this mission in her remarks at the Annual Review Meeting.

In her closing remarks, Ms. Christine Mbabazi, Chairperson of FAWE Rwanda, expressed her gratitude towards all stakeholders who attended the event and extended her heartfelt appreciation to the FAWE team.

Furthermore, She emphasized the crucial role of key partners such as Mastercard Foundation, Beautiful World Canada, Ministry of Education, Rwanda, UN Women Rwanda, and Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF), acknowledging their tremendous support.
